Pre-Departure

Standard

It’s getting close. Just a few more hours and I’ll be on a plane to SE Asia. My anxiety levels have been surprisingly low. Of course, the situation will start to become more real once I leave for the airport tomorrow (more like..today) morning. I’ve already said my “see you laters”, but it won’t set in until I’m out of this city.

The name of this blog was inspired by Penny Lane from Almost Famous. Always had a thing for that movie and it really connects with me when she says her famous line, “it’s all happening”…it sounds cheesy but it’s really how I feel about this whole going abroad and teaching English thing. It’s really happening. Something I’ve talked about and dreamed about for years — it’s a good feeling when your dream becomes a reality.

Finally, I’ve graduated college. I look back and realize that all the hard work, frustration, and tears were more than worth it, even though there were DEFINITELY times where I thought I’d never see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Well, I better get some sleep. Okay seriously I feel like I’m a teenager writing in a diary right now…..

First stop tomorrow: 9/8/13 = San Francisco!
